On Monday August 15, Sauvignon Blanc grapes coming into PEJU in Napa Valley kicked off their start to harvest. The next day we visited winemaker Sara Fowler to see how the grapes, which were now pressed into juice, were tasting. What she is finding is starting to be typical of what is happening all over the valley – after 2021 running early and yields being low, 2022 seems to be more back to “normal” in terms of timeline and yields. Either way, the juice is full of promise and tastes great (we know this because we all had a taste!).
