Rainfall Summary – Oct + Nov

from Paul Blank, Napa RCD Environmental Scientist

November brought the first rain of Water Year 2022-23 (beginning October 1) to the Napa Valley, with two small storms and four to five days of measurable rainfall. Rain totals at the County ALERT monitoring stations (napa.onerain.com) were below average for the month, ranging between 1.0 inch in the City of Napa and 2.5 inches at Mt. Veeder. These totals represent approximately 5% of mean annual precipitation. On average, we get 11% during the month of November, and have 16% of our annual rainfall by this time in the water year.
