We love Ewe. Sheep take over Napa Valley!

We reached out to the team at Tres Sabores recently as the sheep have invaded the valley. Why do farmers in Napa Valley use sheep? Here are the reasons that Julie Johnson gave:

  • No use of fossil fuels or chemicals for weed control.
  • Peace and quiet in the vineyard (Julie notes that they’re pretty social and do “call” to each other if they get separated – but it’s still pretty bucolic)
  • They contribute their “natural deposits” as they work!

Also, they have been known to cause an occasional “traffic jam” if they manage to find a way into the roads up valley, but we forgive them for that.
